FREESPACE - Roseburn

The Roseburn project is situated in Russell Gardens which is approximately 250 meters from the Murrayfield rugby stadium.
Freespace were provided with flats from Dunedin Canmore Housing Association in December 1998 . All of the flats are accessible and are occupied by six people who have a physical disability or an aquired brain injury. Each person has their own individual tenancy agreement with the housing association with Freespace providing the support packages.

Five of the tenants share a  support team of fourteen who work their shifts flexibly over a seven day period including nightshift. There are a further four relief staff who are on call to cover for holidays and sickness . The staff are based in a core flat near to the tenants homes and are in contact with the tenants through a two way radio system.

If a tenant requires assistance the support worker will attend the call and attend to the needs of the tenant , once the persons needs have been met the staff will return to the core flat to await further calls and leave the tenant in private .

The sixth person has their own staff team of three support workers who provide twenty four hour support which includes a sleepover.
